Rearranging equations__

Write "8x + t = 5y"
in the form "x = ..."

Just rearrange the
equation using the normal rules of algebra!

8x + t = 5y

8x = 5y - t

x = ^{(5y - t)}/_{8}

However these
questions are more difficult when the new subject appears twice

Whenever x appears
twice, always __
factorise__

Factorisation is the
only way from x being written twice to once

ax = bx + c

*gather all the x
terms onto one side*

ax - bx = c

*FACTORISE!*

x(a-b) = c

**x = **^{c}_{/a-b}
